Basic activity directions	Determination of the molecular basis of adaptive processes of abiotic (drought, salinity, radiation) and biotic (virus, phytoplasma, rust) stresses, investigating the possibility of genetic improvement of stress tolerance. Comprehensive research of molecular-genetic mechanisms of processes of synthesis, accumulation and formation of pigment-protein complexes that the main structural-functional components of photosynthetic membranes of higher plants. Determination of possible role of photosynthetic changes in adaptation of plants to extreme conditions. Clarification of the basics of the defense-adaptation processes of plants against abiotic (drought, salinity, radiation) and biotic (virus, phytoplasma) stresses.
