Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS was held on September 17.

The event was opened by the President of the National Academy of Sciences Akif Alizadeh and he informed about the issues on the agenda. Remembering past 20 years since signing of “Contract of the Century”, president talked about the important role of oil in the life of our country.

Later it was decided to approve the annual action plan of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of National Academy of Sciences. The plan aims to hold festivals, conferences, seminars, and training and competitions. The award for young scientists and specialists, the establish Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Turkic states, establish relations with Councils of the CIS countries, preparation of “Young Scientists of Azerbaijan” brochures in English and Azerbaijani includes the plan.

The meeting also decided to hold honored scientist, Doctor of Chemistry, professor Muharram Mammadyarov’s 90, a prominent literary scientist, director of the Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi academician Rafael Huseynov’s 60, corresponding member of ANAS Elmira Ramazanova’s 80th anniversary.
