Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The Republic of Azerbaijan declared its independence in 1991 and became a member of the United Nations in March 1992. After the Republic of Azerbaijan became a member of the United Nations, it appealed to the United Nations to prevent Armenia's aggressive policy. After discussing the issue, the UN Security Council adopted Resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 in 1993 condemning Armenia's policy of aggression and demanded the withdrawal of the Armenian army from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. However, the occupying Armenia, taking advantage of the lack of a UN executive office, not only did not leave our lands, but also began to settle Armenians there.
