The next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS was held

The next meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held on January 28.

The event was attended by the President of ANAS, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, members of the Presidium and others.

Opening the meeting, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev informed the participants about the issues on the agenda of the meeting.

The first issue discussed was the organization of problem councils within the Scientific Research Coordination Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was decided to organize problem councils on the scientific departments of ANAS and to be headed by the vice-presidents of the departments.

In addition, it was decided to prepare relevant normative and necessary documents for the certification of employees working in the scientific, technical and management system at ANAS.

At the meeting, a decision was made to improve the activities of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS, as well as partial changes were made in the structure of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

The event also approved an action plan on the 100th anniversary of the birth of world-famous scientist, founder of fuzzy logic theory, honorary member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Professor Lotfi Zadeh. At the same time, a decision was made on the 75th anniversary of academician Valida Alizade, the 70th anniversary of corresponding members of ANAS Bakhtiyar Mammadov and Elshad Gurbanov, and the 65th anniversary of Ibrahim Jafarov.

In the end, a number of personnel issues were considered. Corresponding member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov was approved as the director general of the Institute of Biophysics, doctor of historical sciences, professor Karim Shukurov as the director general of the Institute of History named after A.A.Bakikhanov.
