“Eyelash whispering” (Kirpriklerin pichiltisi) book presented

Azerbaijan Arabian emigrant literature, especially its notable representative Mikhail Nuayman’s literary heritage attracts attention. First researcher of Arabian emigrant literature in Azerbaijan, prof. Aida Imanguliyeva’s work is being successfully continued by specialists up-to-date.

Employee of the Institute of Oriental Studies, PhD in philology Mahir Hamidov’s performance arise interest from this point of view. His “Eyelash whispering” (Kirpriklerin pichiltisi) book that released in the “Science and education” publishing-house is a better idea in promotion of Mikhail Nuayman’s literary heritage. Editor of the book is director of the institute, corresponding member Govhar Bakhshaliyeva.

The book, consisting of 236 pages, along with a translation also includes the original version. Letter addressed to Mahir Hamidov by Najib Muayman, brother grandson of Mikhail Nuayman, also added to the book.

“Eyelash whispering” book has been presented at Azerbaijan Writers’ Union on March 2.

Secretary of Azerbaijan Writers’ Union Ilgar Fahmi highly appraised translation of the current book into Azerbaijani. “Translator should enable high professionalism in order to translate the poetry, the poet's outlook, philosophical views, and to express his spirit in Azerbaijani language properly. M. Hamidov succeeded in this sense”, - said I. Fahmi.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Syria Mahir Aliyev spoke about, how he has witnessed for M. Hamidov’s exploring of Nuayman’s heritage in Biskinta, in his native village, for a years ago.

Dr. philology Vilayat Jafarov, prof. Imamverdi Hamidov and others regarded as an achievement the translation of M. Nuayman’s works into Azerbaijani for the first time in the country.
