Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev met with the management of the Moscow representative office of the Japanese company Tokyo Boeki Group

On November 18, the president of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, met with a delegation headed by the general director of the Moscow representative office of the Tokyo Boeki Group, Takigawa Keiji.

The meeting was attended by Acting First Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Arif Hashimov and Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Physics, Academician Nazim Mammadov, and on the part of Tokyo Boeki Group – Deputy General Director of the Moscow representative office of the company Dmitry Yurkovich and Sales Manager Vitaly Tinkov.

Cordially welcoming the guests to the Academy, the President of ANAS noted that the foundation of scientific, cultural and socio-economic cooperation between the two countries was laid back in the USSR period. The academician added that thanks to the initiative and efforts of national leader Heydar Aliyev, with the participation of Japanese specialists, the largest household air conditioning plant in the USSR was commissioned in Baku, which made a significant contribution to the economy of the republic.

Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev said that after Azerbaijan gained independence, diplomatic relations were also established between the two states, as a result, cooperation in the field of economics, politics, science, culture, etc. was expanded, which is developing today.

In his speech, Takigawa Keiji, General Director of the Moscow representative office of Tokyo Boeki Group, noted that the company he represents has been operating since 1947 and unites 22 subsidiaries operating in Japan, China, the USA, Russia, Australia and other countries and specializing in such fields as nanotechnology, medicine and biology, natural resources and energy, microelectronics and semiconductors, mechanical engineering, metallurgy.

Having informed that the Moscow representative office of the company was opened in 1959 and was officially accredited in 1967, Takigawa Keiji stressed that Tokyo Boeki Group is the first foreign company accredited in the USSR. According to him, in those years the company took part in various scientific and commercial projects, thereby creating favorable conditions for the development of trade between Japan and the USSR.

Then Dmitry Yurkovich, Deputy General Director of the Moscow representative office of the company, spoke, who expressed the company's intention to carry out active activities in Azerbaijan, and also expressed a desire to create an institution in the republic that will allow applying the results of scientific research in industry.

In turn, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev stressed that ample opportunities for this have been created in the High Technology Park of ANAS, and expressed readiness for further and promising cooperation.

Further, other possibilities of cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
