Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Co-organized by Institute of Oriental Studies and Embassy of Uzbekistan Republic to Azerbaijan, ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History  submitted orientalist, academician Ziya Bunyadov’s “Anushtagin –Kharazmshahs. 1097-1231” book in English, May 14.

In advance, attendees got familiar with stands composed of personal documents and academic works reflecting Ziya Bunyadov’s life and creativity in the foyer.

Opening the event director of the museum, acad.  Naila Valikhanli spoke about notable orientalist and figure Z. Bunyadov’s activity. Book which has published in English is of great importance in promotion of Azerbaijan science to world community. Book was published by corresponding member Shahin Mustafayev and English orientalist Tomas Welsford.

Then, documentary devoted to “Acad. Ziya Bunyadov’s mission” was displayed.

Vice-president of ANAS acad. Isa Habibbayli made speech on Ziya Bunyadov’s place and role in oriental studies. Notifying achievements of Azerbaijan science in study of Turkic-Muslim nations’ history, academician stressed out Ziya Bunyadov’s merits.

Deputy director of the Institute of Oriental Studies for academic affairs corresponding member Shahin Mustafayev provided information on International Institute for Central Asian Studies that organized the publication of “Anushtagin –Kharazmshahs. 1097-1231” book in English.

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Sherzod Fayziyev spoke about place and role of citizen of the city of Urgench Ziya Bunyadov in friendly relations between the two countries.
