Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On May 26, ANAS Institute of Manuscripts held event devoted to the 97th anniversary of the Azerbaijan People Republic.

The event was opened by the deputy director for scientific affairs of the Institute, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov, who appealed to the glorious history of Azerbaijan People Republic - the first democratic republic in the East.

The Azerbaijan People Republic which holds one of the bright pages of history of Azerbaijan which possesses the important place in modern history of statehood and is considered logical completion of fight for independence of our people, turned into a beacon of the Muslim East by the democratic reforms.

In spite of the fact that the Azerbaijan People Republic proclaimed on May 28, 1918, existed not for long, only 23 months, nevertheless, it gave an impulse to considerable changes in political life of geography.

Participants were informed about the work done by the Institute of Manuscripts in the field of publication of APR leaders.

Deputy director for scientific affairs of the institute, Doctor of Philology Aybeniz Aliyeva-Kengerli emphasized that in spite of the fact that passes 97th years from the date of the declaration of the Republic, each citizen of the country feels great pride.

The Azerbaijani state, which independence was restored at the end of the XX century, thanks to the political genius of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, was rescued from disintegration threat.

Speaking at the event, the scientific secretary of the institute, PhD in philology Azizaga Najafov spoke about the fiction samples devoted to the Azerbaijan People Republic and also about poets in which works the Republic were described.
