Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Head of International Relations Department of the Presidium Administration of ANAS, PhD on geological-mineralogical sciences, Associate professor Gulam Babayev was on a scientific mission in the city of Potsdam, the Federal Republic of Germany.

At the conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the International lithospheric program (İLP) at the Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) of Germany, Gulam Babayev made a report "Evaluation of the stress associated with the earthquake, contributing to the eruption of mud volcanoes in the Shamakhi, Gobustan, Absheron territories of Azerbaijan ".

The report, which embraces information seismically active mud volcanoes and rich areas of the country, has caused great interest of participants. There was a broad exchange of views on the report.

During the visit, Azerbaijani scientist met with famous scholars as Alessandro Tibaldi, Alexander Rudolph, Garches Gupta, Sjoerd Kloting, Ludwig Stroink , Fabio Bonalli and others. Gulam Babayev also met with scientists from Düsseldorf University, Heinrich Heine.
