Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The Acting Director of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, corresponding member of ANAS Mohsun Naghisoylu participated in the conference "Azerbaijan lexicography" at the Center for application and study of lexicography ", which was held at the University of Hacettepe in Turkey.

The event was delivered a report by M.Naghisoylu on "Look at the history of the Azerbaijani lexicography".

In the report was given detailed information on "At-tafasir" by poet and lexicography of the XI century Q.Tabrizi. Also were mentioned Turkish-Persian dictionaries, Persian-Turkish dictionaries, explanatory dictionary of the Azerbaijani language.

M.Naghisoylu noted that, in "Russian-Turkish dictionary", published by Majid Ganizade in 1897, also was assigned place units of people's vocabulary. In the future, this dictionary was expanded and re-issued in 1909 and 1922 by Majid Ganizade.

Further, M.Naghisoylu met with the leadership of Hacettepe University.

At the meeting sides were discussed the prospects of cooperation between the Institute of Linguistics and Hacettepe University. They, also exchanged of views concerning issues of the holding of joint conferences, research, etc.
