Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The publishing house "Science and Education" published the monograph "Creation of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences"by leading researcher of ANAS Institute of History after A.A.Bakihanov, PhD in History Tamilla Karimova.

In the first chapter, analyzing the main stages of the science and the formation of the national intelligentsia in Azerbaijan, the author of the monograph points out that, these processes are rooted deep into history.

This chapter also highlights questions about the steps taken in connection with the development of science in Azerbaijan in the first years of Soviet power, the creation of scientific organizations and scientific bodies, organization of Tatabbo Research Society of Azerbaijan, activities of the Azerbaijan State Scientific Research Institute and Azerbaijan Division of the Transcaucasian branch of USSR Academy of Sciences.

Based on the creation and operation of research institutions, the author divided the processes of the organization and the formation of the system of scientific institutions in Azerbaijan for three consecutive phases (1920-1929, 1929-1932 and 1932-1935). In the book, a special place is given to research, archaeological works, ethnographic analysis in the field of the history of Azerbaijan in the 20s of the last century, as well as educational work for the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

In the second chapter of the monograph analyzes the process of formation of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan SSR. Dividing the process into two historical periods, the author investigated the characteristics of each period alone (1935-1941 and 1941-1945). Establishment of the Azerbaijan branch of the USSR was an important step in bringing the Azerbaijani science to a new and higher level. The book highlights the work done in connection with the organization of the branch and the main directions of his scientific activity.

The relevant sections of the book present the achievements of Azerbaijani science in achieving victory over fascism. The book details informed about the establishment of the Azerbaijani research institutions. Scientific advisor of the book "Creation of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences" is the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh.

The author of the foreword to the book, Director the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov said that, the work "Creation of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences " is the first visible and vseobemlivayuschey scientific work devoted to the history of the Academy.
