“Archaeological researches conducted by Ruined-Gilan expedition in 2013” scientific workshop was held

ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography held scientific workshop titled as “Archaeological researches conducted by Ruined-Gilan expedition in 2013”.

Workshop chaired by corresponding member of ANAS Ilyas Babayev, head of the expedition Bahlul Ibrahimli informed about archaeological researches carried out in Aza, medieval city at the mouth of the Gilan river, Delme castle, belonging to antique and early medieval centuries, residential locating in Rasul valley, as well as Second and Third Plovdag necropolises.

The new material has been obtained belonging to the Bronze Age: “One of the findings is “Mitanni” typed cylindrical seals are not only major pieces of evidence to creation of class society, but also creation of a state in Nakhchivan at that times”, said B. Ibrahimli.

Note that, the key goal of the research is to study Nakhchivan culture.
