Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Moldova Chisinau hosted the VI International Conference "Chemistry of the Environment and the Environment - 2017" on March 1-3, 2017.

About 300 representatives from more than 20 countries took part in the conference, supported by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, UNESCO, as well as other national and international organizations.

At the event, our country was represented by the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, secretary general of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Asaf Hajiyev, head of the Laboratory of Energy-Saving Radiation Processes of the Institute of Radiation Problems, correspondent member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev, employees of the same institute, Ph.D. Nigyar Guliyeva and Shakhin Hajiyev, Director of the Scientific and Research Institute "Sukanal" of Azersu OJSC, Professor Farda Imanov, as well as the associate professor of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical University Rahil Mammadov and the teacher of the Baku State University Ayten Samedova.

Speaking at a plenary session of the conference, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev spoke about the scientific foundations of the impact on the environment of petroleum products, the dynamics of the change in this impact in Azerbaijan and ways to solve emerging environmental problems.

Speaking then Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, academician Asaf Hajiyev spoke about the problems of the development of science in the post-Soviet space, as well as progressive mechanisms for managing science in developed countries.

At the conference Professor F.Imanov made a scientific report on "Application ofGreen Technologies" in the regulation of water treatment", and Associate Professor R. Mammadova - "The use of biologically active substances in the recycling of polymers."

The meeting also listening reports on various aspects of the impact of the oil industry on the environment by N. Guliyeva, A. Samedova, Sh. Hajiyeva and I. Mustafayeva.

Note that, in the final meeting of the conference a group of participants were awarded special medals. Azerbaijani scientists Ibrahim Guliyev and Asaf Hajiyev also entered the list of laureates of medals.

During the conference, Azerbaijani scientists held meetings with the heads of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and universities, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Moldova and the Diaspora Organization, within the framework of which issues related to strengthening cooperation in science and education between the two countries were discussed.
