Presented the editions of National Museum of Azerbaijan History for 2016

On June 8, a presentation ceremony of the editions of National Museum of Azerbaijan History for 2016 was held.

In advance, event attendees got acquainted with the exhibition composed of museum editions.

Museum’s director Academic Naile Valikhanli  stated the importance of the event from scientific viewpoint and spoke of research works carried out here. It was noted that, study, present, promote and publish the exhibits stored at the museum are the priority directions of the museum.

Notifying special role of museum in study, promotion and delivery to the public the history and culture of Azerbaijan, director informed about the 11 editions including collection of scientific paper, book, book-album, catalogues.

Vice-President of ANAS Academic Isa Habibbeyli specially highlighted the role of aforementioned museum in development of Azerbaijan history and stated his confidence that, these editions would be precious source for employees of ANAS and various scientific ventures.

I.Habibbeyli shared his opinions on books: “Azerbaijan in the VII-XII centuries: history, sources and comments”, “Sheik as-Silafi and Azerbaijan”, “The moneys of Caucasus” etc.

It was brought to mind that, Academic N.Velikhanli’s book “Azerbaijan in the VII-XII centuries: history, sources and comments” compiles the six-century period - from Azerbaijan was joined to the Arabic Caliphate in the midst of VII century to the Mongol invasion in the early XII century. In addition, the book gives the translation of 15 Arabic sources of that age about Azerbaijan and investigates the radical changes in the life of Azerbaijan as a result of Arabic invasion.
