Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On February 27, 2014, was held a meeting with experts on agriculture of international organizations at Department of Agrarian Sciences of ANAS.

Head of Agricultural Science Center of Ministry of Agriculture Asad Musayev, deputy director of International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Agriculture Rufat Rustamzadeh, dr. Mustafa Pala ( Turkey ) , expert of ICARDA ( Syria ) Lamia El - Fattal, an independent consultant on Agricultural Research Policy and Systems Dr . Howard Elliott (Canada), ICARDA's regional coordinator, an agronomist Aziz Nurbekov (Uzbekistan) took part at the meeting. The main purpose was to discuss the planned work of the Department of Agrarian Sciences of ANAS supporting Scientific – Research institutes.

Academician - Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Sciences, academician Garib Mammadov talked about national leader Heydar Aliyev’s activity in agrarian field in 1969 – 82.

Garib Mammadov also emphasized President Ilham Aliyev’s care towards agrarian sector since 2003 and emphasized measures taken by the government towards the development of the agricultural sector for the implementation of programs and projects as a result of changes in the quantity and quality of the field.

Then there was an exchange of ideas, many questions were answered.
