Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

From September 13 to 18 at the Holiday Inn Hotel was held General Meeting of the International Working Group on Sustainable Development of the Caspian Region, organized by the Institute of Geography of ANAS. During this time, scientific reports, seminars, trainings were heard, discussions were held.

The event is dedicated to the topic "Environmental and Anthropogenic Safety Assessment for Sustainable Development of the Caspian Sea Territory"

The seminar was attended by 50 scientists and specialists from the United States, Turkey, Germany, Iran, Italy, Russia, Korea and other 17 countries, as well as representatives of the Embassy of France and Switzerland, the Scientific Foundation of the Economic Cooperation Organization, BP Azerbaijan, "Lighthouse Geo", "Rubicon Geosystems", "Spectra", "Provitaz" "Caspian Geomatics" and others.

On the first day of the event, a training was conducted for students and young researchers on the topic "General presentation of satellite equipment for monitoring the water cycle". The goal is to explore ways to solve existing problems, promote the development of regional decision-making systems in the Caspian region, and expand international cooperation in this field.

At the last day of the event the director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov delivered an extensive report.
