The French scientist got acquainted with the excavations at the monument Chagallittape in Shabran district

Professor of the French National Center for Research (FNCR) Bertilla Lionnett got acquainted with the works of the head of the "Shabran archaeological expedition" of ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, head of the department, Ph.D. in history Safar Ashurov in the complex of Chagallittape monuments on September 23.

The head of the expedition S.Ashurov informed the French colleague about the research and preliminary results. As a result of primary excavations in the ancient settlement, the differential features of the monuments of the Kura-Araz culture of the early Bronze Age were revealed.

The monument is the oldest settlement in the north-east of Azerbaijan.

The summit, which dates back to the IV century, is the third of the Thousand Years, when it was founded in the north-east of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the monuments were inspected, various analyzes of the materials received, etc., and an exchange of views on the issues took place.

Later, Professor Bertilla Lionnett received information about the results of recent works on the medieval city of Shabran. The French scientist was accompanied by the staff of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography - Ph.D. in history Khagani Almamedov, Farhad Guliyev, Bakhtiyar Jalilov and the press-secretary of the institute Parviz Gasimov.
