Co-author of 10 important scientific results of the Division of Earth Sciences of ANAS for 2012-2024: 1.A numerical velocity model of the Earth's crust was developed for the first time based on data from the Azerbaijani telemetry network. This model allows for corrections in the arrival times of P- and S-waves at observation points in the Middle Kura Depression and significantly improves the determination of earthquake hypocenter coordinates. Researchers: (Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor G.J. Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E.Kazimova). 2. A three-level eruption of the Lokbatan mud volcano was recorded for the first time using instrumental methods based on data from Azerbaijani seismic telemetry stations. The duration, depth, and energy released during each eruption were determined. Researchers: (Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor G.J. Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E. Kazimova). 3. Based on data from Azerbaijan's seismic telemetry stations, a database of source mechanisms (M≥3.0) was created and the characteristics of seismotectonic deformations in individual seismogenic zones of the republic were determined. Researchers: (Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor G.J. Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E. Kazimova). 4. As a result of a seismic analysis of the geological and geophysical structure and geodynamics of the Caspian Sea, the features of the seismic regime and seismotectonic deformations in the region were determined. Researchers: (Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor G.J. Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E. Kazimova). 5. A combined method for assessing tectonic stresses is proposed, based on a cataclastic analysis of focal mechanisms of earthquakes with a magnitude of M>3 and the use of the CASMO ("World Stress Map") program. This method allows for the construction of a comprehensive model of the regional tectonic stress field in the lithosphere of the Eastern Caucasus. Researchers: (F.A.Gadirov, G.R.Babayev (Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences), L.Telesca (Italy - CNR), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor G.J. Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E. Kazimova). 6. For the first time, the depth of the Moho boundary in Azerbaijan was determined based on data from digital seismic stations. Researchers: (Doctor of Geological and Mineral Sciences, Professor G.J.Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E. Kazimova). 7. Using correlogram and periodogram analysis, the dynamics of induced (directional) seismicity that occurred as a result of filling the reservoir in the area of the Mingachevir Reservoir from January 1994 to January 2019 was studied. Researchers: (Academician, Professor, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Associate Professor Gadirov F.A., Doctor of Earth Sciences, Associate Professor Babayev G.R., Doctor of Earth Sciences, Associate Professor Safarov R.T., Professor Teleska L., Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Yetirmishli G.J., Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Kazimova S.E., Islamova Sh.K.) 8. Based on data recorded by the digital stations of the RSSC, using the methods of body wave inversion and double differences, as well as as a result of applying the integrated method of local seismic tomography, three-dimensional velocity models were constructed and the velocity heterogeneity of the earth's crust in the transition zones of the territory of Azerbaijan was determined. Researchers: (Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor G.J. Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy S.E. Kazimova). 9. Based on new paleoseismological data, additional faults indicating the occurrence of historical earthquakes of 1668 and 1902, as well as the timing of these paleoearthquakes, were discovered in the Agsu region of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Researchers: (Professor Richard Walker, Ian Pearce, Academician I.Guliyev, Corresponding Member of ANAS G.J.Yetirmishli, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy R.Muradov, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor S.Kazimova, Corresponding Member of ANAS R.Javanshir, Ben Johnson, Neil Marshall). 10. A unified comprehensive regional earthquake catalog for the Caucasus and adjacent regions was compiled based on analog and digital earthquake periods (M≥3.7) that occurred between 1900 and 2019. Researchers: (Istvan Bondar (Institute of Geosciences, Astronomy and Geosciences Research Centre, Budapest, Hungary), Tea Godoladze (Ilia State University, Tbilisi, Georgia), Tuna Onur (University of Victoria), Gurban Yetirmishli (Republican Seismic Survey Center), Rengin Gök (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, California, USA), Erik Sundwall (University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, USA), Sabina Kazimova (Republican Seismic Survey Center). |
