Guseynov Rahim Eyyub oglu
Huseynov Rahim Ayyub oglu was born on September 9, 1924 in Shusha. In 1946 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State University (now BSU) on Geophysics (Atmospheric Physics).

In 1973, he received his Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, in 1977 he was renamed as professor, and in 2001 he was elected as a corresponding member of ANAS.

He worked at the Department of Astrophysics of ANAS (1957-1960), Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at the SAO (1960-1964), Head of Laboratory (1964-1975), Head of the Astrophysics Chair at BSU (1975-1992).

R. Huseynov's scientific works dedicated to Radiooptic properties of solar atmosphere, first phase of solar flares and dynamic processes in them, planetary fogs and definition of their basic parameters, etc. dedicated. The scope of this theory is very broad. R.Huseynov worked out new methods of radius of distance and distance of planets to planetary nebulae.

R.Huseynov is the author of over 80 scientific works. He is a member of the International Astronomical Union and the European Astronomical Society. Under his supervision, 1 defended doctoral dissertation and 3 PhD thesis.

He was awarded with the” Order of Honor”, was given the honorary title Honorary Teacher.

Corresponding member of ANAS Rahim Huseynov died in Baku in 2012.
