Basic activity directions	Preserving, studying, popularizing the archaeological, historical, architectural, natural and cultural monuments dealing with the five thousand years history of Nakhchivan city and taking them to the future generations
Main scientific achievements	On the basis of the decree “About the establishment of preservation and passportization of historical and cultural monuments in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” of Vasif Talibov, the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on December 6, 2005, the exhibits consist of the material-cultural samples revealed during the done explorations and archaeological excavations. In the museum exhibits belonging to material-cultural samples found from different territories of the region, at the same time, in the result of archaeological excavations done in the boroughs like Oghlangala, Ovchulartepesi, Meydantepe, KharabaGilan, Shahtakhti, Sadarak, Makhta, Kultepe and Duz dagh collected. In the Archaeology section exhibits belonging to the Neolithic, Calcolithical, Bronze, Iron, Antique and Middle Ages, the clothes and tools in the Ethnography section, but in the section of “presents to the museum” medals dedicated to the 90^th anniversary of this country gifted by the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
