Basic activity directions	The library provides books and newspapers respectively of readers requirements; registration by fields of books, returned by readers, new published by employees or offered by administration as gift; handling books in traditionally adopted procedures and electronic form; handling of periodical (newspapers and journals) by library rules and their placement in the reading room; organization of exhibitions and events;
Main scientific achievements	The creating of electronic library and e-catalog of material contained in the library collection is carried out in accordance with modern requirements. The work has begun on the creation of electronic catalog to simplify the use of books from the general library fund on various topics in the field of geography. This process is carried out by using the automated library information system. To date, 17 thousand books have been handled according new standards, and included in the electronic catalog database.
