| Basic activity directions | - analysis of data base file ISI (Tomson, USA), service management and mechanism for base entry;
- assessment of Azerbaijan in world scientific publications compared with the same indicators of Russia and other countries of CIS; - assessment of departments’ research activities and scientists’ activities of the Institute according to significance and value of their research; - assessment of departments’ research and scientists’ investigations - legal protection and learning of patentable technical problems during research conduction; - creation of patent documentation fund for main research directions; - patent research with planning and fulfillment of research and investigation; - scientometric analysis of scientific works of ANAS members in field of Earth Sciences to select priority trends; - recording of new and complete scientific works and submission of information to innovative Centre; - regular website update (gia.az) of Institute of Geology and Geophysics. |

- Creation of build index for Azerbaijan science, gathering information dealing with publication of scientific journals, scientific results estimated by Higher Qualification Board, etc. |
