Basic activity directions

1. Studying scientific-theoretical problems of biometric technologies;

2. Research of theoretical foundations of software engineering and quality indicators of software systems;

3. Ensuring information security.

Main scientific achievements

• Existing problems of human face recognition methods and identification systems based on photo-portraits were explored and analyzed comparatively. The anthropometric points of a human face were selected, and geometrical characteristics system was proposed basing on them. The method was proposed to find the coefficient, which indicates the importance degree of geometric characteristics; • New methods and algorithms were developed to determine racial or ethnic representation of a human. Characteristic signs of the reference image were defined by the algorithm of calculating characteristic signs of photo-portraits and selected geometric points of the face. Characteristic signs of a random image were compared with the characteristic signs of the reference image of ethnic groups, and their ethnic group was determined;

• Methods and algorithms have been developed to increase software productivity;

• An algorithm has been developed based on defined criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of programming languages;

• The relationship between people, technology and processes for information processing has been explored. Types of technological processes and models of software development process were analyzed;

• Methods and models have been developed to increase software efficiency based on soft computing technologies;

• Methods to increase the efficiency of software based on Soft Computing technologies have been investigated. Soft Computing components were analyzed, their use in software, advantages and problems were studied and recommendations were given;

• An algorithm has been developed to increase software efficiency and optimize management using the TOPSIS method;

• Biomimetics technologies were studied, its problems were studied and recommendations were given;

• Ant algorithm was applied to optimize the software;

• Metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of the software team have been developed. Existing soft-computing methods have been analyzed to increase the reliability of the software;

• A method is being developed to determine the complexity of the program code. Test methods of software testing have been studied. Methods of protecting children on the Internet with the application of intelligent technologies have been developed;

• Objectives and tasks of data sanitation, areas of application, perspectives, existing methods, some scientific-theoretical and topical problems were studied. Relevant recommendations and suggestions have been made to address this problem;

• A conceptual model for the prevention of harmful information has been proposed to ensure the safety of children on the Internet;

• A new method of image sanitation has been developed to protect children and adolescents from inappropriate images on the Internet.
