Basic activity directions | Study and interpretation of the surface and deep geologic-tectonic structure and regularities of forming of the Earth crust within the state;
Study of the basic stages and milestones of the Earth crust evolution, reconstruction and modeling of processes of the geodynamic evolution and formation of its modern structure; Study of the tectonic phenomena and the geodynamic processes of the newest stage of the lithospehere evolution; Study of the tectonic regularities of manifestation of the seismic and exogenous processes, definition and analysis of the correlative interrelations between the modern tectonic-geodynamic, seismic and exogenous processes, forecast of the natural disasters risk; Study of interrelations between the forming and distribution of various mineral resources and the specific features of the geologic-tectonic structure of the Earth crust; Performance and expansion of international contacts and the information exchange in tectonics and regional geology of the Caucasus, including the research organizations of the adjacent states. |
