Basic activity directions	Engages in research and propagandising of manuscripts and printed books; checks the correspondence of the bibliographic sources, catalogues to standards prepared by other departments of the institute, carries out their systematizing, publication and research.
Main scientific achievements	Researches are conducted on manuscripts and printed books, several topical bibliographical indexes are prepared. Bibliographical resources, catalogues which compiled in the Institute are systematized, bibliographically edited according to modern standards.
