The author of numerous studies on the literary-historical and theoretical aspects of a number of unexplored areas of 20th-century Azerbaijani literature, literary relations, the history of the press, the creativity of forgotten writers.

For the first time he has scientifically justified the existence of literary trends in sentimentalism in the Azerbaijani literature, and has thoroughly studied its formation, development problems and creativity of its leading representatives, as well as the literary heritage of the forgotten sentimentalists.

In the Azerbaijani literature, he has systematically studied the history of formation of European lyric genres (hymn, anthem, sonnet, terced,tercina, ballad, prose poetry, glossa, etc.), features of development, numerous examples, as well as synthesis with national literary practice for the first time.

He published all the numbers of “Yeni fuyuzat” (1910-1911) and “Sheypur” (1918-1919) magazines published in Baku in the form of separate books.

He has also collected a number of works of writers published in various books and periodicals and first transliterated them to modern readers and also attracted them to the research. These writers are as follow: Mahammad Hadi, Abdulla Sur, Abdulla Divanbeyoglu, Abbas Sahhat, Ali Sabri, Bagir Jabbarzade, Alipasha Sabur Huseynzade, Ali Mahzun, Aliabbas Muznib, Alakbar Garib Nakhchivanli, Nemat Basir, Ali Nazim, Eynali Bey Sultanov, Said Selmasi, Mammadali Sidgi, etc.
