Bala Aga-Huseyn oglu Iskandarov was born on December 21, 1936 in Baku. In 1961 he graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University. In 1967 he defended PhD, and in 1994 - doctoral. In 1996 he received a Professor title. In 2001, B.Iskandarov was elected as a corresponding member of ANAS.

In 1964-2012 he was a junior researcher, senior researcher and head of the Department of differential equations of ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics.

B.Iskandarov has been involved in teaching activities at Baku State University for over 40 years. He is the author more than 70 scientific articles. Under the leadersheep of a scientist 13 Ph.D. theses were defended.

Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), head of the Department of "Differential Equations" of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, Professor Bala Iskandarov died in 2012 in Baku.
