Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Gadimov Yagub Bala oglu was born on April 20, 1917 in Baku. In 1941 he graduated from the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute. In 1948 he received the PhD degree, Doctor of Technical Sciences (1962), Professor (1962) and in 1968 was elected as corresponding member of the ANAS.

He worked as an engineer at “Azneft” (1941–1942), as an engineer at “Azneft” (1943–1945), graduate student, researcher, head of laboratory at ANAS Institute of Energy (1945–1964) and since 1964 Chair of department of Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute (AzTU).

The scientific research is mainly devoted to the development of automated process control systems in the oil industry. Some theoretical and practical problems of automation of electromagnetic clutches and brake actuators in the process of drilling wells, automation of technological parameters of electrodes in oil and gas pipelines have been solved.

Y.Gadimov is the author of more than 200 scientific works, monographs and inventions. Awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

Corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Gadimov died in 1983, Baku.
