Gurbanov Telman Khudam oglu
Gurbanov Telman Khudam oglu was born on November 6, 1936 in the city of Nakhchivan. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, Baku State University (1960).

 In 1968, he was a PhD in Chemistry, gained doctor’s degree in Chemistry in 1982, and a Scientific Researcher in 1983, and in 1989 he was elected as a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR.

In 1970-1983 he was deputy director on scientific affairs at the Institute of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR, served as a director in 1983-1985 and head of laboratory in 1985-1990.

Under the guidance of T. Gurbanov, for the first time in the country methods for synthesis of new class coordination compounds of renium and technics and technology of low temperature and pressure of suitable metals, thin sheets and layers on the basis of these compounds have been prepared.

T. Gurbanov's scientific researches are reflected in his monograph "Third Chalcogenides of Rare Earth Elements" published by him and P.Rustamov and O.Aliyev.

 T. Gurbanov is the author of 135 scientific works, 45 author's certificate of authorship and 1 monograph. Under his leadership, a doctors of sciences, 15 PhDs have been trained.

He was awarded the State Prize of the Azerbaijan SSR.

T.Gurbanov was awarded three gold medals of the All-Union National Economy Achievements Exhibition and a number of Honorary decrees.

Corresponding member of ANAS Telman Gurbanov died in Baku in 1990.
