Musayev Salim Huseynpasha oglu
Musayev Salim Huseynpasha oglu was born on May 29, 1937 in Yukhari Oruzman, Bashkechid village of the Republic of Georgia. He graduated from Ganja State Pedagogical Institute (1966).

S.H.Musayev got a PhD (1970) and a Doctor of Sciences degree (1991), a corresponding member of ANAS (2001).

S.Musaev worked at the Herbari Laboratory of ANAS Institute of Botany in 1990-2007 and the Head of the Department in 2007-2010. In 2008-2010 he was Director of the Institute of Botany of ANAS.

As a result of his research, the species of Avena L. species of the Caucasian flora has been identified, which has been distinguished for the first three types and 8 species of the genus for the former Alliance space and 5 species for the Caucasian flora.

S. Musayev led the expeditions organized in 1970-1985 in Nakhchivan and other regions of Azerbaijan and enriched the Central Herbarium Fund with new herbarium copies.

S. Musayev's scientific research has played a major role in the study of useful, endangered plants. He gave information about the type of rare, relic, endemic species found in the territory of our republic and included to "Red Book of Azerbaijan", published by collective authors in 1989.

Corresponding member of ANAS S.Musayev is one of the authors of the "Flora of Azerbaijan", prepared for the first time in Azerbaijani language.

He had great services in promoting the achievements of Azerbaijan botanical science. His works were published in a number of foreign publishing houses. Some of his works are included in the curriculum of higher education institutions.

S. Musayev described 10 species of plants for science, which is included in the International Nomenclature Botanical Code. For the first time in her research, she defined 12 species for the Eurasian flora, 7 species for the Caucasian flora and 150 species of 10 species for the flora of Azerbaijan.

S. Musayev is the author of 140 scientific articles and 5 monographs.

As a broad-based researcher, he has devoted his knowledge and skills to the training of national cadres in the independent Republic of Azerbaijan. Under his leadership, 4 PhDs and 8 doctors were prepared.

S. Musayev was awarded Honorary Decree of Kirovabad (Ganja) State Pedagogical Institute named after H.Zardabi (1977), Honorary Decree of ANAS (2002).

Corresponding member of ANAS Salim Musayev died on April 7, 2010 in Baku.
