Mikayil Rahimov was born in 1930 in Tumasly village of Sharur district of Nakhchivan AR. In 1953 he entered the Faculty of Zootechnics of the Perm Agricultural Institute named after Academician Pryanyshnikov. In 1961, M.Rahimov entered postgraduate study at the Perm Agricultural Institute. He defended his Ph.D. in 1964. Until 1970, he worked as an Associate Professor, Head of the Department and Dean of the Faculty of Zootechnics at the Tyumen Agricultural Institute. From 1970 to 1987 he worked as the Head of the Department of Meat Breeding of the Siberian Scientific Research Project Technological Livestock Institute.
Mikayil Rahimov defended his doctoral thesis in 1985. In 1986 he was given the academic title of professor. M.Rahimov received the State Prize in 1985 with a group of authors for the development and implementation of efficient technology of livestock production based on the reconstruction of large-scale cattle farms in Siberia. In 2001 he was elected a corresponding member of ANAS. In 1987 he was appointed head of the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Livestock named after academician F.A.Malikov. Under his scientific supervision, one doctoral and 14 master's theses were defended. He is the author of more than 150 articles, including 3 books. Corresponding member of ANAS Mikayil Rahimov died in 2004 in Baku. |
