Aliyeva Rafiga Alirza gizi
Aliyeva Rafiga Alirza gizi  was born on September 20, 1932 in Nakhchivan city. She graduated from the chemistry faculty of the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) in 1956. In 1976, she became an associate professor, and in 1998 received PhD in Chemical Sciences. In 2007, she became a corresponding member of ANAS and in 2014 she was elected as an active member of ANAS.

R. Aliyeva worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan USSR in 1958-1960, worked as a post-graduate, laboratory assistant, assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor at the Department of "Analytical Chemistry" of Baku State University in 1957-1999 and professor of the same department, since 2001 - head of the Scientific Research Laboratory of Ecological Chemistry and Environmental Protection at Baku State University.

R. Aliyeva is a well-known scientist studying the transformation and photometric determination of rare earth elements and studying methods of consolidation, which serves to enrich the field of analytical chemistry with new knowledge. Her main scientific direction is the study of new organic reagents and sorbentine synthesis and their analytical capabilities. She has determined the dependence between the characteristics of analytical reactions and the structure of complex compounds.

For the first time under the leadership of R. Aliyeva, the teardowns on b-diketons were synthesized and the electronic density was calculated for quantum chemical reagents in organic reagents, and according to the results, the degree of analytical effect of these reagents compared to each other was predicted. Under her leadership, the optimum condition for the addition of Cu, Cd, Zn, Fe, Ni, Co, U and phenol compounds was developed using a male-type anhydride and a synthesized synthesis based on the combined copolymer of styrene. It has been suggested that classroom sorbents are used for wastewater from oil refineries, for mixing metals in flow and lay water.

R. Aliyeva is the author of 450 scientific works, more than 25 textbooks, 6 translated books on analytical chemistry and 20 patents. Most of her works were published abroad. Well-known international magazines refer to her works. Two doctors of sciences and 20 PhDs have been trained under the leadership of R. Aliyeva. She was deputy chairman of the D02.011 Dissertation Council at Baku State University and a member of the Scientific Council of Baku State University.

R.Aliyeva was selected by the American Bibliography Institute in 2001 as "Man of the Year 2001" and "Businesswoman of 2001".She was awarded with Honorary Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic. She was awarded the "Heydar Aliyev Award" by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She was awarded the title of "Science of the Year" by the Baku State University, "Ecology" and "General Ecology".

Academician Rafiga Aliyeva was awarded the Order of Glory.

R. Aliyeva died on May 6, 2017.
