Aslanov Aslan Mammad oglu
Aslan Mammad oglu Aslanov, an active member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, was born on August 20, 1926 in Agstafa.

A.Aslanov graduated from the History faculty of Azerbaijan State University named after S.M.Kirov (nowadays Baku State University) in 1945-1950 by specialty - Philosophy. He received a degree of PhD in 1959, a Doctor of Science in 1974 and a professor in 1976.

A.Aslanov from 1961 to 1977, was the Head of the Department of Asthetics and Ethics of Azerbaijan State University. He was the rector of the Azerbaijan State Art Institute from 1977 to 1987. A. Aslanov was elected an active member of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences in 1989.

A.Aslanov, appointing as academician-secretary of the History, Economy, Philosophy and Law Department of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences in march 1987,served in this position until 1995. He was also Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Law of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 1990-1995.

A.Aslanov studied the issues of Western philosophical-aesthetic idea, explored the aesthetic aspects of the active educational essence of the effect of mutual enrichment of national cultures. He translated Aristotle's Poetics and Didro's "Brother's Son Ramo", "Gavur" by C.Bayron  “Vasiliy Tyorkin “ poems by A.Tvardovski  into Azerbaijani. He is the author of poetry books "I Think You" (1957), "Girls and Violets" (1961), "My musical days" (1985).

A.Aslanov was a participant of the 6th International Congress on Aesthetics in Sweden in 1968. He also made many interesting reports at the VII International Hegel Jubilee Congress held in Berlin in 1970 and in the VIII International Congress on Aesthetics in Bucharest in 1972. He also had great services in the preparation of scientific staff.

Aslan Aslanov,  an active member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, died in 1995 in Baku.
