Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Askarov Bahman Mehrali oglu was born on October 5, 1933 in Tovuz region. In 1957 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State University (now BSU).

In 1962 he received the degree of PhD in Physics and Mathematics, in 1971 - Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and in 1972 received the title of Professor. In 2001 he was elected as corresponding member of ANAS, in 2007 - an active member.

Askarov Bahman was the author of over 200 scientific works, monographs, books and patents.

The scientist was engaged in the preparation of highly qualified personnel. Under his leadership, over 10 doctors of philosophy and 4 doctors of science were trained.

In 2004 he was awarded the Order "Shohrat", became the laureate of the Azerbaijan State Prize in the field of science and technology (1974). In 2000 he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of Science".

Academician Askarov Bahman passed away in 2014 in Baku.
