Rasulov Majid Latif oglu

Rasulov Majid was born on July 1, 1916 in Sheki. He graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute (1938). Received the degree of PhD in Physics and Mathematics (1950), Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (1961), in 1968 was elected a corresponding member of ANAS and in 1983an active member.

The scientific activity of M.Rasulov is connected with the study of methods for solving linear problems of differential equations devoted to equations of mathematical physics and not solved by classical methods.

He proved the existence of solving problems for differential equations of complete integrated circuits in the form of an analytical representation of a wide class of one-dimensional, mixed multidimensional problems, the theory of differential equations with special derivatives of a large class of boundaries, gave methods for solving integral contours and schemes for mixed Cauchy problems.

He gave new separation formulas for solving spectral problems for contour integral and differential equations of an arbitrary vector function in the field of the theory of spectral linear differential operators.

M.Rasulov was the first Azerbaijani mathematician, whose monograph was published abroad. His monograph “Contour Integral Methods” in 1967 was translated into English by order of the British Royal Mathematical Society and published in the Netherlands, the United States of America and Canada.

More than 20 PhDs and Doctors of Sciences defended dissertations under the guidance of M.Rasulov.

He was awarded the medal "For the Defense of the Caucasus" and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. In 1989 he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Azerbaijan SSR".

Academician Majid Rasulov died in 1993 in Baku.
