Tutayuq Valida Xasbulat gizi
Tutayuq Valida was born on September 23, 1914 in the city of Shusha. She graduated from the faculty of fruit and vegetable growing of the Azerbaijan Agricultural Institute (1934). In 1939 she defended her Ph.D and in 1949 Doctor of Sciences.

Tutayuq Valida is a scientist with great merits in the history of the development of biological science and endowed with multidisciplinary knowledge.

Conducted research on anatomy and laid the foundation for the anatomy of plants in Azerbaijan. The scientific activity of V.Tutayuq was mainly in two areas: wide-profile morphology, dendrology and ornamental gardening and gardening.

Her monograph, “The Structure of Multi-petal Flowers” (1960), which is the result of research into the study of the normal and abnormal structure of a flower in various multi-seeded flowers, played an important role in determining a number of fundamental and theoretical questions in studying the origin of a flower. Important practical experience has the theoretical significance of these studies. Knowledge of the regularities of the forms of multi-petal breeding and sometimes gardening makes it possible to obtain new multi-flower forms.

V.Tutayuq is the author of 130 scientific works, including 6 monographs and 4 textbooks. Under her leadership, more than 20 PhDs and 3 Doctors of Science were trained.

She was awarded the Medal "Badge of Honor" (1943), the medal "For selfless labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" (1945), the jubilee medal dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of B.Michurin by decision of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education (1955) , awarded the Honorary Decree for services to the development of the national economy and culture of the Republic (1960), received the title of "Honored Worker of Science" (1974).

Academician Valida Tutayuq died on November 12, 1980 in Baku.
