Basic activity directions	basing on the data of 35 telemetric seismic stations waves (format SAC) studied the stress and strain of the crust. The department is assessing the coordination of the focal mechanism parameters, conditions of their formation and analysis mechanisms, evaluation of the dynamic parameters of earthquake sources, the creation of a high-speed model of the Earth's crust in Azerbaijan, based on the speed dispersion of Rayleigh waves groups.
Main scientific achievements	based on the data of 35 telemetric seismic stations was created an information base of earthquake focal mechanisms (M≥2,5) and identified particular seismotectonic deformations of individual seismogenic zones in the country.
