Basic activity directions   Development of mathematical models, methods and algorithms for control of dynamic objects and systems in the conditions of scarcity of information.
Main scientific achievements

- Image processing – One of the methods of remote exploration of the Earth's surface is the joint processing of images obtained using different color filters. For this purpose, research is carried out on obtaining color images from filtered images and calculating the photosynthesis coefficient. In order to capture large objects with the necessary accuracy, it is necessary to take several shots. Work is underway to develop a software module capable of integrating these shots into a single image.

- Image recognition – Algorithms and software for detecting the presence of a necessary object and tracking its movement in a given way have been developed. The invariance of the algorithms to rotation has been put forward as a condition. The problem of recognition and identification of infrastructure objects by their descriptions is investigated. Algorithms for controlling the platform, on which the camera is installed, while tracking the movement, are developed.

- Development of decision-making systems in the control of dynamic systems – To transfer a controlled dynamic system from one state to another, algorithms are developed to search for controls according to various criteria (in the shortest possible time, with minimum energy consumption, etc.), to find a feedback control (regulator) to maintain a given mode of motion.

- Differential games – One of the problems arising from the joint motion of several controlled objects includes the fact that the goal of some objects is in conflict with other objects (a differential game), and the problem of generating control of each object independently is investigated. Formalization of these problems, correctness of problem statement, approach to solution, development of solution algorithms.

- Mutual structural analysis of soil classification of Azerbaijan according to the international classification (WRB) has been carried out. Algorithm of finding correspondence of any soil type taken in the WRB classification in the Azerbaijani soil classification has been developed.
