Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Baku State University (BSU) held a farewell ceremony in honour of a prominent scholar, teacher of the department of press history and methods of ideological work at BSU, Professor, cavalier of "Shohrat" order Shirmmad Huseynov on June 25.

State and government officials, deputies of the Milli Majlis, science and culture, intellectuals attended the farewell ceremony.

The recent passing of the famous scientist Shirmmad Huseynov is a serious loss for the scientific community of Azerbaijan.

Research by Shirmmad Huseynov, distinguished himself in the development of numerous personnel, as well as teaching is vitally important for history studying. The memory of the well-known teacher and scholar Shirmmad Huseynov, who was awarded the highest award of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan - the Order “Shohrat” for his contribution to the development of education and science in our country, will always live in the hearts of people who knew him.

The scientist is buried in the second Alley of Honor.
