Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Employees of ANAS Institute of Geography conducts research on Baku and the Absheron islands archipelago.

Specialists studied the Hkara-Zira island remote locations, the coastline, landforms created by the waves, morphometric parameters of the terrain, elements of a mud volcano and climate measurements. They also explored land development opportunities and found that there was a need to clean coastal and adjacent waters to eliminate anthropogenic disturbances.
