The students of the Russian National Research Nuclear University and University Lyceum No. 1523 have developed sneakers that can show the way to the person who put them on their feet. Also, smart shoes are able to count steps and calories burned, the inventors say.
According to experts, the sneakers are connected via Bluetooth technology to the owner’s smartphone, which allows them to track the movement of a person along the intended route. If the owner needs to turn, his right or left shoe (depending on the direction of the turn) starts to vibrate.
The developers suggest that their development will reduce the likelihood of accidents on the road, since a person will not need to look at the smartphone screen while driving. According to scientists, it is likely that such sneakers in a few years will be able to compare in popularity with a smart watch.
