Arabic publications of the Institute of History presented in Kuwait

The delegation led by the director of the Institute of History, academician Yaqub Mahmudov, met with Dr. Fahd Al-Janfavi, Director of the Department of Islamic Studies and Quran Science at the Kuwait Ministry of Foundations and Islamic Affairs.

The delegation consists of scientific secretary of the Institute, PhD, associate professor Irada Aliyeva, Head of Karabakh History Department, responsible editor of the book "Irevan khanate: Russian occupation and Armenians displacement in Northern Azerbaijan", editor-in-chief of the book orientalist, associate professor Guntekin Najafli and a responsible editor of the book fo same name in Arabic, Gulnur Mahmudova.

During the meeting, Y. Mahmudov spoke about the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait. He said Islamic countries play an important role in Azerbaijan's foreign policy.

Referring to the great leader Heydar Aliyev's invaluable contribution to the preservation of the national and spiritual values of our people, the scientist said that the restoration of the Bibiheybat mosque in Soviet-era was initiated by a great leader. He noted that there are hundreds of mosques in our country and President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva pay special attention to the restoration of mosques.

Academician Yaqub Mahmudov said that the territory of the modern Republic of Armenia is historic Azerbaijani land. The Armenian state was first established in 1918 in the South Caucasus. Armenian vandals have destroyed more than 300 mosques in the Iravan khanate, including the city of Iravan. At present, Armenian vandalism continues in the occupied Karabakh region. Our mosques and other historical monuments were destroyed there, and pigs are kept in some mosques.

The video broadcasting Armenian vandalism was displayed in the meeting.

Later, Arabic publications of the Institute of History were presented at the Department of Islamic Studies and Quran Science: "Iravan Khanate: Russian Occupation and the Occupation of Armenians to Northern Azerbaijan", "Iravan khanate: Iravan mosques destroyed by Armenian vandals" etc.

The same books were donated to the department at the end of the meeting.
