On December 17, a prominent scientist'sbas-relief was opened in front of the Press History Department of the University on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the birth of the professor of the Baku State University, tireless press researcher, honored journalist Shirmammad Huseynov.

peaking at the event, rector of BSU Elchin Babayev spoke about the rich creative way of Shirmammad Huseynov, who has played an invaluable role in the development of modern journalism. He said that much of the scientist's life was connected with the Baku State University.

Shirmammad Huseynov, who has been known as the master of hundreds of journalists, has done a great job in training scientific staff. Today, her students are successfully following the path of their teachers at BSU, as well as in other academic and educational institutions and in the media.

Then, daughter of the scientist, pro-rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory Lala Huseynova said that Baku State University is a sacred place for her father and he loves this university as much as his home. He thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the respect and respect shown to his father's memory.

Shirmammad Huseynov's spouse deputy editor of the Science and Life journal Ulker Huseynov expressed her gratitude everyone.

The event was attended by MPs Aflatun Amashov, Javanshir Feyziyev, Professors Jahangir Mammadli, Solmaz Rustamova-Tohidi, head of “Real” TV Mirshahin Agayev, editor-in-chief of the “525th” newspaper Rashad Majid and others stated that, for many years, Shirmammad Huseynov had revelaed and published unopened pages of our national press from the archives with great patriotism and investigative stubbornness.
