Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Schoolchildren of Mingachevir secondary school N16, Raya Hasanli and Sevil Asgarli, who joined to the IX competition “Scientists of the Future” in section of “Medicine and health”, were supervised by the employees of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives (ICA).

The students, who participated in the project "Procuring almond oil from bitter almonds", learned the technology of oil production under the supervision of their scientific supervisors - ICA head lab, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Afsun Sujayev and researcher of the institute Mirali Isakov.

The project aims at developing a technology for the production of therapeutic almond oil from wild almonds in our country. Young researchers have conducted extensive research on this oil in laboratory conditions.

The results show that the oil obtained from bitter almonds has broad functional quality indicators.
