Chinese authorities have authorized clinical trials of another vaccine for a new type of coronavirus. According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Wu Yuanbin, at a briefing on Tuesday, in total, the country began clinical trials of three vaccines.
"Three coronavirus vaccines are currently approved for clinical trials in China," he said.
"Among them, the very first - an adenoviral vector-based vaccine developed by a team of researchers led by Chen Wei - completed initial clinical trials at the end of March. On April 9, researchers started recruiting volunteers for the second phase of clinical trials," said Wu Yuanbin. He also stressed that "this is the first vaccine against coronavirus in the world, which has passed to secondary clinical trials."
