People need to change evolutionarily in order to adapt to living conditions on other planets, said Maxim Litvak, head of the neutron and gamma spectroscopy laboratory of the nuclear planetology department of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with ria.ru
“One of my favorite ideas is, perhaps, to terraform (to make the conditions on the whole planet close to the earthly ones - ed.) Not a planet, but to adapt itself to its conditions,” he said.
“By evolving, a person can learn to control his body so much that it ceases to pay attention to external conditions. Go to some new phase when the human body will not be needed,” the scientist added.
