Researchers at the Institute of Chemical Physics Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences, have developed a new iso-octenidine antiseptic against polio, herpes simplex, HIV, hepatitis C and bird flu viruses. This was reported in the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. “Iso-octenidine” is an analogue of octenidine dihydrochloride. During preliminary tests, both substances showed the same antibacterial effect. True, “iso-octenidine” is better soluble in water, and due to its low cost, it is beneficial in the manufacture of medicines.
