The Czech Republic is developing its own vaccine against COVID-19, since the second and third waves of the pandemic may come, vaccinations against it become a key factor, the head of the Ministry of Health Adam Vojtech said at a press conference on Monday.

"Scientists of three departments are working on the development of a vaccine against coronavirus - the State Institute of Health, the Institute of Hematology and the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine. The first phase of the laboratory work is underway," the minister said.

According to cardiologist Vera Adamkova, who is one of the scientific leaders in developing the vaccine, about 80 laboratories are now engaged in similar studies in the world.
