An international Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk symposium was organized under the leadership of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History in the city of Kahramanmaras, Türkiye, marking the 950th anniversary of its writing.
Professor Osman Mert, chairman of the Turkish Language Association, Academician Nizami Jafarov, chairman of the Atatürk Center in Azerbaijan and Professor Nadir Mammadli, director of the Institute of Linguistics of ANAS named after Nasimi made speeches at the symposium and highlighted Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk as a valuable source for studying our past, language, identity and history.
Professor Nadir Mammadli moderated one of the sessions - the Kashgari Mahmud.
Additionally, the reports by Professor Mahira Huseynova, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Doctor of philology Konul Samadova, head of the Department of Modern Azerbaijani Language were presented at the symposium.
