Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

During his visit to China to participate in the International Conference on Talent Exchange held in Hebei Province, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbeyli, met with the President of Hebei Normal University, Professor Li Guijun.

Addressing the meeting, Professor Li Guijun noted that scientific and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and China have been steadily expanding and emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and higher education. He stated that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Hebei Normal University and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in the near future would create favourable conditions for broadening cooperation across various fields of science.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, in turn, stressed the significance of the established cooperation between the scientific and higher education institutions of the two countries. Expressing confidence that cooperation with Hebei Normal University in the scientific fields represented at ANAS would yield fruitful results, he put forward a number of proposals regarding the prospective Memorandum of Understanding.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli also highlighted the significance of the international scientific conference entitled “From the Caspian to China: Literature, Technology and Social Life”, jointly organized with Hebei Normal University in 2024, emphasizing the importance of holding similar joint conferences in the future.

Following an exchange of views and discussions, the parties reached an agreement on joint activities aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.

The meeting was attended by Agshin Aliyev, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language at Beijing Foreign Studies University; Professor Qi Xiaoyan, Dean of the Faculty of International Cultural Exchange at Hebei Normal University and President of the Hebei International Talent Exchange Association; as well as other scholars.
